3. Dr Vikas Singh conducted the prestigious Dr T P Banerjee Symposium in UPASICON 2019
4. Dr Vikas Singh received the outstanding young surgeon award in UPASICON 2019
5. Dr Rudramani completed the ATLS course conducted in KGMU, Lucknow and received the instructor potential.
6. Dr Rohit Srivastava, Dr Sunil Kumar Singh and Dr Amarjot Singh successfully completed the CISP course conducted in the institute by the Medical Education unit.
CMEs/ Conferences conducted by the department:
1. The department conducted a national inaugural conference, SURGILAPCON in December 2019 which was first of its kind in the country giving the residents from all across India the opportunity to present their work. The event was attended by various eminent persons from the field of national and international repute.
2. The department also conducted an intra departmental CME on the topic of wound healing in February, 2020.
EVENTS
1.
The department organised a national conference, SURGILAPCON 2019 on 7th
& 8th December 2019 which was a unique event where residents
were given a chance to be up on the stage as a faculty and common ward
procedures were discussed. Residents from about 37 medical colleges from all
across the country took active participation in the event. The programme also
included master technique videos from stalwarts who came from various reputed
institutes of the country and abroad. The president elect of ASI attended the
event and promised to take this initiative of the department to further heights
and organise conferences on the same pattern throughout the country.

A departmental CME was conducted by the department of General Surgery, Dr
RMLIMS on 4th September, 2019 on the topic of ‘Biostatistics’. Dr
Prabhakar Mishra from the department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics,
SGPGIMS, Lucknow delivered a lecture on ‘Selection of Biostatistical Methods
in Data Analysis’ which was attended by all the faculty members, senior
residents and non pg junior residents. It was a very interactive and
informative discussion. We plan to continue similar activities to update our
knowledge in future also.
3. The department is organising a CME on wound healing in mid of February 2020.
